Social Run to the Friendly Inn at Frankton Sunday 9th May 2010.

The Social run to the Friendly Inn at Frankton has now become a regular feature in our calendar, it is exactly what it says, make your own way to the pub taking a route as long or short as you want it to be.You don’t often see original condition bikes but two nice ones at the same event is a bonus. Ariel is mine the AJS belongs to Dave Kendall.

We just meet up at the pub and have a good old chinwag, having lunch is optional but highly recommended as the food is good and the welcome likewise.

A trio of Ariels

This year fifteen bikes turned out, ranging from the twenties to the eighties and there were two pillion passengers, a few more turned out in cars bringing along wives, children and grandchildren. Following a very wet Saturday we were blessed with glorious sunshine so much of the time was spent in the car park admiring the bikes.

From left to right, Fran Wiles, Bill Wise (in leathers with back to camera) Maurice Taylor, Barry Basset, Ricky Richardson (with back to camera) and far right Frank Parker.

Our thanks go to Frank Parker for acting as information contact, all those who came along to make it a good day and last but not least our hosts at the “biker” Friendly Inn Nigel and Deb.From left to right, Ted Robinson, Rowland Robinson, Martyn Roberts, Dave Sketchley and Maurice Taylor.
