The Bill Lacey Run 1st August 2010
The Bill Lacey Run is a an annual pilgrimage for many bikers from quite a few sections of the VMCC and other clubs, our run starts near Stretton-on-Dunsmore and travels down country lanes and through small villages in the counties of Warwickshire and Northamptonshire finishing at the village of Evenly where Bill Lacey lived and his daughter still does.

A wide range of bikes are parked all around the large village green in their hundreds and the local pub puts on a hog roast and a live band.

The run this year saw 17 bikes at the start with three lady passenger, the run was just over 36 miles, a little shorter than normal as the council had closed a road on the original route and a detour had to be made just days before.

The weather stayed fine with just a short shower soon after we arrived at Evenly, on arrival at the village members can spend as long, or as short a time there as they want just looking and chatting before making their own way home although a suggested route back to a central point is supplied.
Our thanks go to Harry and Fran Wiles for the route and Rickie Richardson for the information sheet on Bill Lacey.
