Afternoon Tea Run 12th September 2010
Our regular organiser of thus event was unable to set the route this year so Fran and Harry Wiles said they would do it. The finish venue had been found and the route set unfortunately a couple of weeks before the event Harry was committed to carry the Branch Standard for the Rugby Branch of the Royal Warwickshire Regimental Association at a ceremony on the morning of the event. Harry was able to get to the finish of the event but not the start so Frank Parker offered to sign on the riders and hand out the route sheets at the start.
The start was at the lay-by at the bottom of Hatton Hill and the route went through Norton Lindsey, Charlecote, Wellesbourne along the Fosse Way through Hunningham , Weston Under Weatherley, Princethorpe and finishing at the Ryton Organic Gardens at Wolston.
We had been given permission to park the bikes in the service road so they could all be parked together, this worked very well as there were thirty bikes and a number of passengers on the run. Unfortunately, due to the gardens being open for free and a Koi Carp show going on the restaurant was very busy and people had to be patient and wait to be served.
