The Kenilworth Run 09
The run that did not take place, let me explain, after a week of glorious sunshine Saturday the 6th June turned wet with intermittent heavy showers so we were not surprised to wake up on Sunday the 7th June to very heavy rain. The Kenilworth Run was due to start at 10.30 in very heavy rain that had not abated for a number of hours, as only three bikes had turned up and one of the three had a minor slip on some diesel on the way to the start, fortunately neither rider nor bike were badly damaged, coupled with the fact the route was due to go through three fords the decision was taken to call it a day and every one went home to get dried out. A shame as a lot of work goes into the organisation and route finding for these events. Our thanks go to John Heywood and his wife Ann for the work they put in on our behalf, at least John has the route mapped out for next year.
