The 2009 Breakfast Run
At 6.00am on Sunday 14th June 13 bikes met at the lay-by on the A429 just off the M40 Island on what was a slightly overcast morning, 6.30am arrived and we all set off , within a couple of miles the sun broke through and stayed out for the rest of the 50 mile route.
The route took us through some lovely Warwickshire country side, avoiding as many village centres as possible that time in the morning is not easy but the organisers managed it quite well.
Warwickshire gave way to Northamptonshire and a very pretty run through Fawsley Park passing between the two fishing lakes where fishermen were enjoying the sunshine.
Far too soon the route came to an end and we were at the Willoughby Café where 18 hungry souls sat down for a hearty breakfast. We would like to apologise to those who had to wait longer than normal for their breakfast, despite us telling the staff, when we dropped in the week before, to expect us the message did not get passed on to the boss so she did not draft in any extra staff. Just as we were finishing our breakfasts members of the Northamptonshire Section started to arrive, they were also on a breakfast run.

Last year Bette Barber graced us with her presence during her Presidential year, thanks to Ian Clarke bringing her along, she enjoyed it so much that she said she would return this year unfortunately she pulled a muscle in her leg last week and was not fit enough to travel the 230 miles from home, we wish her a speedy recovery.
Our thanks go to Fran and Harry Wiles for a superb route and the staff at the Willoughby Café for coping in difficult circumstances.
