AGM 2009 Report.

38 members were in attendance for the AGM, the minutes of the 2008 AGM were read and signed. The Chairman gave his report followed by a report by the Secretary. The Treasurer then went through the accounts, which had been distributed. After a couple of queries were answered the accounts were proposed, seconded and accepted.
Then came the election of officers, as all the members of the committee were willing to stand again and had been proposed and seconded, to save time, they were elected on block and are as follows.
Chairman Harry Wiles, Secretary Helen Parker, Treasurer Frank Parker, Vice Chairman Alan Bailey, Assistant Secretary John Heywood, Assistant Treasurer Robert Thomas, Equipment Co-ordinator Bill Wise, Committee Members Martyn Roberts and Dave Kendall.
Two presentations were then made, one to Dave McMahon to give to his son John for auditing our accounts and one to Ian, the Steward of the Rugby Club for his help throughout the year. This was followed by the presentation of awards as follows.

Chairman’s Award went to Sue and Dave Kendall.

Clubman of the Year, voted for by section members, went to Glen Hughes.

Rider of the Year, the person riding in most events, went to Frank Parker.

Golden Brick, this was introduced by our Chairman some years ago to bring some light heartedness to what can be a sombre affair and consists of a bronze brick on a wooden stand, it goes to the person, in the Chairman’s opinion, who has made the biggest faux pas throughout the year and went to Peter Booth.

During 2008 we inherited a number of cups from Frank Adam so we decided to introduce two new cups for the AGM, the first being a Ladies cup to be given by the committee to the lady who we felt had done the most for the section and a Vintage cup for the person who rode a vintage machine in the most section events throughout the year.

The Ladies Cup went to Helen Roberts for her outstanding efforts in organising the Coventry Parade.

The Vintage cup went to Alan Bailey.

This ended the proceedings.
