Afternoon Tea Run 13th September 2009.
This year we had a brand new organiser for the Afternoon Tea Run. It was John Readings first attempt at organising a run for the section and what a good job he made of it. We met at the usual start point, the lay-by at the bottom of Hatton Hill with well in excess of twenty machines, plus a hand full of passengers signing on.

Unfortunately Graham Hallard had a small problem with his little AJS and had to go home and change bikes, not too much of a disaster as the route went close to where he lived and he and Brenda were able to pick the route up from home. Bill Wise had a problem starting his Royal Enfield but it eventually fired up and along with everyone else managed to complete the route.

The route took us through approximately 38 miles of lovely countryside with a nice mix of small lanes and A roads. We finished up at John’s house where wife, Dreeda, must have spent hours baking a wonderful assortment of scones and cakes which, along with a cup of tea, were enjoyed by all.
Our thanks go to John for a lovely route and Dreeda for the tea and cakes. We also thank them and their helpers for their hospitality.
