The Kenilworth Run 2008
The Kenilworth Run is the Section's mid summer run and covers about 50 miles
of gorgeous countryside in Warwickshire.
2008 was the 30th anniversary of the Kenilworth Run. Those who
completed the run were rewarded with a slice of the celebration cake baked
by Helen Parker. In addition a special commemorative enamel badge
was given to each participant.
The weather held for us (as it has done most years) and just under 30 machines
started from the Hatton Lay-by. Heading south the run roughly
followed a large circle centred on Stratford-upon-Avon and finishing at Hatton
Country World, where a section of the car park was reserved for us so the
machines were put on display for the general public to admire. The
riders and passengers availed themselves of the facilities while swapping
tales of adventures on two wheels then everyone headed for home with that
inner sense of satisfaction created by a good day.
Our thanks go to John Heywood for organising the route and the commemorative badges, Helen Parker for making the celebratory cake and Hatton Country World for allowing us to take up valuable parking spaces during one of the busiest days of their week.
