Breakfast Run 2008.
Because of poor turnouts in the past few years Fran and I decided to re-schedule
from a 5.30 for 6.00am start to a 6.00 for 6.30am start. This, together with
a sunny morning, did the trick as we had 21 machines-ranging from the 20’s
to the 80’s turn out.
We were honoured to have our President, Bette Barber in attendance, she had left home at 4.00am to be with us, Ian Clarke, her “Chauffeur” on the BMW had to leave home much earlier to pick her up. Thanks to them both for a sterling effort.
Following a fifty mile run through Warwickshire and Northamptonshire country
lanes, avoiding villages at that time in the morning, we arrived at the Willoughby
Café for a hot breakfast which was much appreciated as, although the
morning was sunny it was quite chilly.
